Committee Positions

Committees are great ways to get involved in leadership within MSO! Freshmen are also encouraged to apply, as two spots in each committee are specially reserved for freshmen general members!

Applications at this time are now closed for the Spring 2024 semester.

However, any questions about the committee itself or how to join in a future semester can be directed toward the officer who leads it.

• Media Committee | No longer accepting applicants

  • The Media Committee is responsible for helping the Media Chair photograph and advertise MSO events. All MSO members (including freshmen!) are eligible to apply.  Photography and graphic design experience are not required.

• Special Service Committee | no longer accepting applicants

  • The Special Events Service Committee helps the VP of Service prepare special service events throughout the semester. Two spots are reserved for freshmen! Committee members are required to attend a number of weekend service events and assist with preparations, as needed.

• Banquet Committee | No longer accepting applicants

  • The Banquet Committee assists the VP of Administration in planning and organizing  MSO’s end-of- semester Banquet. Apply if you would like to help commemorate our fellow members and their service to the Waco community!

• Academics Committee | No longer accepting applicants

  • The Academic Committee is responsible for helping members of MSO become better academically! We plan speaker events, workshops, and other events aimed at the academic success of our members! All MSO members are eligible! The committee will be made up of 6 members, 2 of which will be freshmen.

  • The CREBS committee is responsible for improving Baylor’s cultural competency! They are responsible for working with the CREBS Chair to plan festivals, events, food, and more. They are committed to connecting the diversity of Baylor. All MSO members (including freshmen) are encouraged to apply!

  • The Social Committee is responsible for working with the Social Chair in scheduling and volunteering at social events and working to make every MSO member feel welcome and involved. All members are eligible to apply.

  • The Connections Committee is responsible for helping connect MSO with other organizations and events at Baylor. We plan to help connect MSO with as many people and organizations as possible!
